CALNE CRICKET CLUB Won By 6 Wickets

Match report Lacock won the toss and batted first. It was a sunny day with a slight breeze and great to be back out on the pitch and playing some cricket. It was clear from the off the bowlers needed to clear out some cobwebs but all stuck to the task. Lacock started well but as the innings progressed tight bowling from Sean, Chris and Lucy tied them down and wickets fell regularly. Only a few big hits from an elderly tailender pushed them past the 100 mark. Highlights in the field included Rich showing off his football prowess and kicking the ball over the boundary ropes.

Calne batting started with both Charlie and Matt getting out to legside full tosses, however, Sean and Glads took the game away from Lacock with some powerful hitting. Sean retired on 53 and Glads was bowled for 38. Lucy came in and finished the game with a boundary for a 6 wicket win with 16 overs to spare!

The day finished with Budweiser and Strongbow in the evening sun.

Roll on the league next weekend.
