Match report Despite losing, the performance was very encouraging. A really good opening pair of bowlers in Finley Goode and Olly Sutton, both bowling a great line and length and both swinging the new ball. Finn taking 2 wickets including a caught and bowled. Olly taking only 1 but deserved more. Jim Sutton was as solid as ever with the ball also taking 2 wickets he also kept the opposition star batsman fairly quiet. Gareth and the skipper both went for a lot of runs as the star batsman was on to every ball. The skipper chipped in with a couple while Gareth was unlucky not to have a couple also. Our star spinner Ben Sutton took 3 wickets finally stopping the star batsman on 141. Melksham finished on 213 all out in the 39th over.

Steve and Jim opened our innings. The opposition bowling though slow was accurate and bowled to the set field making it difficult to get the ball away. Jim fell on 12 to a top edge, James came in and chipped up a catch on 3. Jodie was looking good before she missed a straight one on 10. Gareth was next in and was batting nicely. Steve was finally caught on 43. The skipper joined Gareth at the crease and started to build a partnership before Gareth went after a loose delivery and chipped straight to fully, falling on 21. Ben came in and played nicely for his 6 NO, the skipper fell on 24 to a bottom edge caught by the keeper. Debutant David Sabin was next and got his first runs for the club before being caught on 6. Mike Toms went in next in the 45th over before finishing on 1 NO. We batted our 45 overs finishing with 138 for 7.
